The unionized workers are expressing concerns about potential job losses due to the introduction of new technologies at the ports, which has led to tensions as the contract expiry approaches. President Joe Biden’s team believes that any potential strike may not have a significant impact on the economy as retail inventories have been built up in anticipation of the contract expiring.
