Bicycle-riding bandit knocks out, robs man in brutal and sudden daylight NYC street attack

A bicycle-riding bandit launched a brutal daylight attack on a man in Brooklyn, knocking him unconscious with a sucker punch before robbing him, according to police.

The incident occurred just after 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and Manhattan Avenue in Williamsburg. The attacker, riding a Citi Bike, struck the 26-year-old victim on the right side of his head, leaving him incapacitated.

Following the assault, the assailant rifled through the victim’s pockets, stealing his wallet and money before fleeing the scene on his bike.

Police released a video of the suspect, who is seen wearing a black baseball cap, black shirt, and khaki pants, as he pedals away. The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital for facial injuries.

Authorities are still searching for the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish speakers.
