Baby pictured on floor of a Taylor Swift concert in Paris causes outrage

A startling image has been circulating widely on social media. It depicts a baby lying on the floor during Friday night’s Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert at the La Défense Arena in Paris.

Originally shared on X, formerly Twitter, from the account @Jacnights13, the now-deleted photo captured a young child resting on a purple furry coat, adorned with a light-up bracelet typically given to concert attendees. An adult figure stands nearby in the image.

The user’s caption, as reported by Deadline, expressed concern about the safety of having a baby in the concert pit, prompting immediate reactions from social media users.

One user empathized, reflecting on the challenges of finding childcare but emphasizing the importance of ensuring the child’s safety and comfort, suggesting alternatives like using a carrier and providing ear protection.

To provide context, another user shared a photo showing the packed arena during a Swift concert, highlighting the stark contrast with the image of the baby on the floor, prompting criticism of the parenting decision.

A different angle of the scene was shared, revealing the child wearing headphones. While some users acknowledged the attempt at ear protection, others continued to criticize the situation.

La Défense Arena issued a statement, obtained by the Daily Mail, emphasizing their policy that all minors attending concerts at the venue must be accompanied by an adult, with guardians responsible for children under 18. Despite offering alternative seating arrangements, the ticket holders declined.

As of now, Taylor Swift has not publicly addressed the incident. She continues her European tour, with her next performance scheduled for May 17 at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
