Authorities investigate the person responsible for abandoning a malnourished bulldog in a garbage bag in Iowa.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Authorities are currently investigating the distressing case of a bulldog that was discovered abandoned in a trash bag in Des Moines.
The emaciated dog was located on Tuesday afternoon near a railroad viaduct, with only its head protruding from a black garbage bag. The unfortunate animal was unable to walk as it was tightly sealed within the bag using tape.
Police representative Sgt. Paul Parizek reported that the individual who found the dog became suspicious when he noticed the bag moving.
As of Saturday, the dog is reportedly on a gradual path to recovery. Upon his discovery, the animal weighed a mere 23 pounds (approximately 10 kilograms), as indicated by the veterinary personnel who are currently looking after him.
Investigators are hopeful that someone may recognize the dog and assist them in identifying the person responsible for this act of cruelty.
Authorities noted that the dog’s ears have been cropped, implying that he must have received some form of veterinary care during his earlier life.
