Arizona Man Indicted for Shooting His Young Daughter

In a tragic case in Show Low, Arizona, a man has been indicted by a grand jury in connection with the fatal shooting of his 1-year-old daughter. The incident reportedly occurred in the presence of the child’s mother and involved the use of an AR-style rifle, according to officials. Adam Joseph Montoya, 27, has been charged with second-degree murder and child abuse as per the indictment issued earlier this month. He has entered a plea of not guilty to these allegations.

Following the shooting, emergency responders swiftly transported the injured infant to a medical facility in Show Low, where she was tragically pronounced dead upon arrival, as detailed by the prosecutors. Currently, Montoya remains in custody with a bond set at $1 million, as the legal proceedings unfold in this somber and distressing situation.
