Alex Rodriguez sinks halfcourt shot, awards Bucknell student $10,000 prize

LEWISBURG, Pa. — Alex Rodriguez, the former Major League Baseball player, showcased his basketball prowess on Sunday by sinking a halfcourt shot, which earned a Bucknell University student a prize of $10,000.

The 14-time All-Star made this impressive shot during the halftime break of the basketball game between Bucknell and Army. At 49 years old, Rodriguez launched a high-arching ball that made contact with the backboard before dropping through the net, which ignited a wave of excitement among the students in attendance.

Rodriguez’s visit to Bucknell was not only about showcasing his athletic talent; he was also there to discuss his company, Jump Platforms, which he co-founded with partners Jordy Leiser and Marc Lore. Notably, Leiser holds a position as a trustee at Bucknell University.

Throughout his Major League Baseball career, Rodriguez amassed an impressive total of 696 home runs while playing for the Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers, and New York Yankees, highlighting his remarkable legacy as one of baseball’s greats.
