Authorities in Oregon are investigating a shooting at a Tesla dealership in Tigard, a suburb near Portland. The incident happened overnight, and the FBI is now involved in the investigation. This shooting is part of a troubling pattern of vandalism targeting Tesla locations across the country. Authorities are working hard to figure out who is behind these acts and why they are happening.
The shooting occurred at around 1:46 a.m. when the dealership was closed and unoccupied. Surveillance footage from the dealership shows the moment the gunfire took place. Thankfully, no one was inside the dealership at the time, so no injuries were reported. However, the damage to the property is significant. At least seven shots were fired, causing damage to three vehicles. Multiple windows were shattered, and one bullet even passed through an office wall, hitting a computer monitor. The damage has left the dealership shaken but relieved that no one was hurt.
The Tigard Police Department is not handling the case alone. They are working closely with the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF). These agencies are helping with the investigation and trying to gather clues that could lead them to the person or people responsible for the shooting. So far, there is no description of a suspect or any known leads. The police are asking anyone with information to come forward and help solve this crime. The investigation is still in its early stages, and authorities are doing everything they can to figure out what happened.
At this time, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. While there is no direct evidence pointing to a political reason, investigators are aware that there have been similar acts of vandalism at other Tesla dealerships in the past. These incidents have raised concerns that some of the attacks may be politically motivated. The authorities are carefully considering all possible explanations as they continue their investigation into this shooting. However, without further evidence, it is difficult to say for sure why the dealership was targeted.
This incident is not the first time a Tesla dealership has been targeted by vandals. In recent weeks, there have been similar events across the country. For example, federal prosecutors in Denver charged a woman for vandalizing a Tesla dealership in Colorado. She threw Molotov cocktails at vehicles and spray-painted the phrase “Nazi cars” on the building. Additionally, earlier in the month, law enforcement in Salem, Oregon, arrested a man who had thrown Molotov cocktails at a local Tesla dealership. These incidents show a growing trend of vandalism targeting the company’s retail locations, and authorities are working hard to find those responsible.
