Gorilla Fights 100 Men: Would They Really Have NO Chance?

Key Points Summary – Gorilla Fights 100 Men

  • Online debate explodes over claim that 100 humans could defeat a gorilla
  • Boxing champ Oleksandr Usyk says he and his sons could win easily
  • Mr Beast and Elon Musk joke about testing the theory
  • Scientists and social media users fiercely disagree on possible outcomes
  • Silverbacks have immense strength but are naturally peaceful animals
  • Experts say team spirit and cooperation give humans the advantage
  • Gorilla conservationists warn focus should be on saving, not fighting them

A bizarre question has gripped the internet: could 100 humans defeat a silverback gorilla? The viral debate has attracted more than 288 million users and sparked heated arguments worldwide.

Heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk confidently declared that he would win such a battle. Even more surprising, he claimed his young sons could manage the feat using judo.

While the idea sounds absurd, it quickly caught fire online. Famous YouTuber Mr Beast joked about putting the theory to the test, asking for volunteers. Elon Musk even joined in, replying, “Sure, what’s the worst that could happen?”

Debate Splits Social Media

Many internet users took sides. Some argued that 100 people, using teamwork, could overwhelm even the mightiest gorilla. They suggested tactics like surrounding, grappling, and targeting vulnerable spots.

Others dismissed the idea as suicidal. One user warned, “You will meet your maker after a violent death.” Another doubted anyone would dare be the first to attack.

Adding fuel to the fire, Encyclopaedia Britannica even posted a “Study Pack” with data on gorilla strength and anatomy. Still, many remained unconvinced.

Experts Weigh In

Social psychologist John Drury pointed out that collective action gives humans power. He compared the debate to wartime camaraderie, where unity makes success possible.

“Team spirit is key,” Drury explained. “Shared identity and responsibility make people act bravely together.”

Yet, strangers in a life-or-death scenario might not cooperate so easily. Fear and self-preservation instincts could shatter any plan.

Gorilla Strength Is Frightening

Despite their peaceful nature, silverbacks are incredibly strong. They can exert a crushing 1,300 pounds of grip force. That’s enough to crush a human skull with ease.

In addition, a gorilla can lift ten times its own weight. The raw power of these animals makes the thought of fighting one terrifying.

However, experts stress that gorillas rarely show aggression. They live mostly calm lives, feeding on plants, fruits, and insects.

Gentle Giants, Not Brutal Beasts

Wildlife cameraman Gordon Buchanan, who spent months with gorillas, described them as peaceful and gentle. He said silverbacks often look grumpy, but prefer relaxing and caring for their young.

Veteran conservationists also agree. Gorillas avoid conflict and show affection toward their families. Fighting is simply not part of their daily lives.

Pringles: The Secret Weapon?

While some joke about brute force, others offer clever ideas. Christopher Stevens humorously claimed he could subdue a gorilla using a tube of Pringles.

In fact, African conservationist Andre Bauma revealed that gorillas enjoy salty snacks. Though not a food source, such treats are sometimes used to calm or distract them.

Internet Fun or Conservation Focus?

While the viral debate entertains millions, experts hope it sparks awareness about gorilla conservation. Fewer than 1,100 mountain gorillas remain in the wild.

Though playful, the question “Gorilla Fights 100 Men” reveals a lot about human curiosity and teamwork. Still, saving these incredible creatures may be the more worthy battle.
