Beyoncé Slammed for Singing Anthem at Cowboy Carter Tour

Key Points Summary – Beyoncé Cowboy Carter Tour

  • Beyoncé performed the national anthem on opening night of her new tour
  • The Star-Spangled Banner stirred heated political reactions online
  • Some fans saw it as tone-deaf amid Trump’s presidency
  • Others praised her for blending it with the protest anthem Freedom
  • The Cowboy Carter tour launched at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles
  • Beyoncé also brought her daughters Rumi and Blue Ivy onstage
  • Ticket sales for the tour have reportedly been sluggish despite Grammy win

Beyonce has stirred up major controversy after opening her Cowboy Carter Tour with a rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner. The performance took place Monday night at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and instantly lit up social media.

While some fans praised the dramatic move, others blasted her decision to highlight American patriotism during Donald Trump’s presidency. Many expressed anger, claiming the anthem felt out of touch with global events.

“She’s honoring nationalism while babies are deported,” one person wrote online. Another posted, “Bad timing. The world hates America right now.”

Social Media Reactions Turn Heated

Beyonce, 43, wasn’t spared by her core fan base. Some users accused her of siding with conservatives and called for refunds. “She looks like a Republican,” one fan commented. Others said she should recognize how out-of-step the moment felt.

“Singing the anthem while the country commits atrocities abroad is disgusting,” one user added. “Tone deaf as f*** or she doesn’t care.”

A few even claimed Beyonce owed fans a partial refund for the choice.

Some Defend Artistic Inten

Not everyone was angry. A portion of the Beyhive defended the move, claiming she used the anthem to make a larger point. They argued she merged it with Freedom, a song previously used during the George Floyd protests.

“You don’t get the vision. She starts with the anthem and finishes with freedom,” a fan explained. Another called the performance “breathtaking and unforgettable.”

Beyonce reportedly wanted to reshape the meaning of the anthem on her own terms.

Family Moment Adds Emotional Touch

In the middle of the night’s spectacle, the superstar brought her daughter Rumi, 7, onstage—her first public appearance in years. Rumi joined older sister Blue Ivy, 13, who danced with her mom during past tours.

The pop icon kept Rumi’s twin brother, Sir, out of the spotlight once again, continuing her practice of shielding him from public events.

This family moment was one of the rare soft touches in an otherwise politically charged evening.

Tour Faces Ticket Woes Despite Grammy Glory

Despite the high-profile launch and her first-ever Grammy win for Cowboy Carter, Beyonce is reportedly struggling to fill seats.

Reports from Monday showed more than 3,000 seats still available at SoFi Stadium just hours before showtime.

Fans have complained for weeks about the high price of tickets, some of which topped thousands of dollars.

Ticket Prices Drop as Show Kicks Off

While some fans paid top dollar, others scored last-minute deals. One concertgoer posted that they got a nosebleed seat for just $20 on resale.

They even joked it was cheaper than a limited edition McDonald’s Big Mac tied to the Minecraft movie.

The tour will continue through the U.S. and Europe, wrapping up with a final show in Las Vegas on July 26.
