Kelce and Mahomes Open New Steakhouse in Kansas City

Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are best known for their amazing chemistry on the football field, but now they are hoping to bring that same success to the business world. Last March, they announced their plans to open a new steakhouse in Kansas City called ‘1587 Prime.’ The name is a combination of their jersey numbers, 87 for Kelce and 15 for Mahomes. They had hoped to open the restaurant in early 2025, but as we approach the middle of the year, the doors are still not open. However, things seem to be moving forward. The duo has recently posted a job listing for an executive chef, which could mean the restaurant’s opening is just around the corner.

A Taste of What’s to Come

The job listing provides some exciting details about the restaurant. The executive chef will have an important role in ensuring the overall quality of the food and overseeing the staff. The steakhouse will offer a truly unique experience, with nearly 10,000 square feet of space spread across two floors. Guests will be able to enjoy multiple private dining rooms, a state-of-the-art chef’s kitchen, and even a meat display. The job comes with a competitive salary, ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 per year, making it an attractive offer for those in the culinary field.

Bringing People Together Through Food

Patrick Mahomes has spoken about his and Kelce’s vision for the restaurant. He shared that the idea of opening a restaurant together has been on their minds for a while. Both players are passionate about bringing people together, something they’ve experienced on the football field and now want to continue off the field. According to Mahomes, Kansas City is the perfect place for this kind of venture. “We’ve always wanted to create a place where people can come together,” he said. “What better place than Kansas City?”

Affordable for Everyone

In their interviews, Mahomes and Kelce emphasized that they wanted the restaurant to be affordable for everyone. They don’t want to create a fancy, overpriced venue. Instead, they want the place to feel like a home for everyone in Kansas City. “We don’t want it to be too upscale,” Mahomes explained. “We want it to be a place where anyone can come, have fun, and enjoy great food.” This approach reflects their desire to create a welcoming space for all, no matter their background.

Partnership with Noble 33

For this project, Kelce and Mahomes have teamed up with Noble 33, a well-established hospitality group known for running successful restaurants. The partnership will bring a lot of expertise and resources to the project, ensuring that ‘1587 Prime’ becomes a standout dining spot. Kelce expressed his excitement about working with the group, saying, “We are thrilled to be part of this journey with Noble 33. Creating a one-of-a-kind dining experience in Kansas City is a dream come true.”

Unique Touches Inspired by NFL Careers

Tosh Berman, an entrepreneur closely involved with Noble 33, shared that the restaurant will feature some unique, subtle touches inspired by Kelce’s and Mahomes’ NFL careers. These special details will set ‘1587 Prime’ apart and give guests a chance to connect with the athletes behind the brand. It’s clear that this restaurant will be more than just a place to eat; it will be an experience that reflects the players’ personalities and their love for Kansas City.
