‘Washington Post’ Bezos Rift Exposed–by Trump!

Trump Says Bezos Criticized His Own Newsroom

In a new interview, Donald Trump claimed that Jeff Bezos had privately expressed frustration about his newspaper. The former president said Bezos described Washington Post staffers as “out of control” and lamented losing money while running the publication.

“He said, ‘This is crazy, I lose my fortune running this thing and they’re out of control,’” Trump told OutKick’s Clay Travis. “These people are crazy.”

Despite past political clashes, Trump described Bezos as “a good guy,” noting their relationship has improved since his first term in office.

Washington Post Bezos Editorial Pivot Sparks Debate

The Washington Post Bezos relationship drew attention again in February when Bezos shared a new editorial vision. He announced that the opinion section would now emphasize free markets and personal liberties, saying other platforms could feature opposing views.

“I believe these viewpoints are underserved,” Bezos posted on X. “I’m excited for us together to fill that void.”

The policy shift stirred discussion among media analysts and readers about the balance between ownership and editorial independence.

Political Pressure Inside The Post

According to reports, Bezos previously blocked a planned endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the 2020 election. That decision caused backlash among the newsroom and contributed to growing concerns over his role in the paper’s operations.

Trump praised Bezos’s efforts to rebalance the outlet’s political leanings. “He’s really trying to be more fair,” Trump claimed, adding that Bezos has also faced tough media coverage himself.

Changing Alliances In A Divided Landscape

Trump pointed to the audience at his inauguration to illustrate shifting alliances in American politics. He noted that individuals once critical of him now express support.

“It’s a much different presidency,” Trump said. “I have much more support now than the first time.”

He views Bezos’s attendance as a sign that political divisions are softening, especially among powerful business figures.

Washington Post Bezos Clash Reflects Wider Media Tensions

The evolving Washington Post Bezos story reflects a larger debate over media ownership, political bias, and newsroom autonomy. With Bezos taking a more visible role, questions are growing about how billionaires shape public discourse through the outlets they own.

Neither Bezos nor the Washington Post responded to Trump’s claims. However, the remarks have revived discussion around Bezos’s editorial influence—especially as the nation heads into another critical election cycle.
