LEICESTER, England — Following a string of disappointing results in the Premier League, Leicester City announced a change within their coaching team on Monday, although manager Ruud van Nistelrooy will retain his position.

The adjustments saw the departure of Van Nistelrooy’s assistants, Ben Dawson and Danny Alcock, after Leicester suffered a significant 4-0 defeat at home to Brentford. This loss positioned Leicester in second-to-last place in the league, sitting five points away from safety.

This latest defeat marks the sixth consecutive home match in which Leicester has failed to score, setting an unfortunate record in the Premier League.

Van Nistelrooy, who took over as manager in November, has managed the team through 13 league matches but has only secured two victories, facing 10 losses, which raises questions about his job security. This marks his second significant managerial role after previously coaching PSV Eindhoven in his home country, and he also had a short-term role as interim manager at Manchester United, where he spent five successful years as a player.

Dawson and Alcock joined Leicester City as first-team coaches at the beginning of the season, initially serving under Steve Cooper, who was dismissed in November before Van Nistelrooy’s appointment.

Leicester City issued a statement expressing gratitude to Ben and Danny for their contributions and wished them success in their future endeavors.
