FLORENCE, Italy — Moise Kean, a forward for Fiorentina, has been discharged from the hospital after an alarming incident during a Serie A match on Sunday in which he collapsed due to a head injury.

The player was taken off the field on a stretcher and transported to a nearby hospital following the event that occurred during the latter part of the match against Hellas Verona.

In a concise update released on Monday, Fiorentina confirmed that Kean was released from the hospital in Verona overnight and has safely returned to Florence. The club stated that all medical examinations and diagnostic tests showed no concerning results.

Initially, Kean suffered a facial injury and was treated for a significant cut on his eyebrow before he attempted to continue with the game. However, shortly after his return, he suddenly collapsed on the field, although it was noted that he did not appear to lose consciousness during the incident.

This incident marks the second instance this season of a player from Fiorentina collapsing on the pitch, following the case of Edoardo Bove, who fainted in December and required a medically induced coma, as well as the implantation of a heart defibrillator.

Kean has been enjoying a remarkable season, having scored 15 goals so far, which is the highest tally of his career.

The match concluded with Verona securing a 1-0 victory over Fiorentina, thanks to a goal from Antoine Bernede scored in the fifth minute of stoppage time. Fiorentina is set to play their next match on Friday against Lecce at home.
