YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — In a thrilling matchup on Sunday, Nico Galette led the charge for Youngstown State, scoring 21 points in their 81-77 victory over Green Bay. The Penguins improved their record to 19-11 overall and 13-6 in the Horizon League with this win.
In addition to Galette’s impressive scoring performance, he also grabbed nine rebounds, contributing significantly on both ends of the court. Gabe Dynes also shone brightly, finishing with 19 points, having an efficient shooting night where he connected on 7 of 9 attempts from the field and made 5 of 9 from the free-throw line. Additionally, Dynes provided a strong defensive presence with 12 rebounds and three blocks. Jason Nelson added to the offense with 13 points, despite facing some challenges shooting, finishing 4 of 11 from the field and 1 for 5 from beyond the arc, while hitting 4 of 6 from the foul line.
On the other side, the Phoenix, who now stand at 3-26 with a 1-17 conference record, had Marcus Hall leading their scoring efforts with 16 points. Mac Wrecke contributed 15 points to the team’s total, and Ben Tweedy rounded out the scoring with 13 points and provided seven assists, showing his playmaking capabilities.
