The Antelopes, now with a record of 18-6 and 8-2 in the Western Athletic Conference, benefited from the contributions of Duke Brennan, who not only added 12 points but also grabbed 14 rebounds, solidifying his presence in the game. JaKobe Coles also made his mark by scoring 12 points, shooting 40% from the field and converting on 4 of 7 free throw attempts, while contributing five rebounds and three blocks to the team effort.
The Texans, who have a season record of 10-16 and 5-6 in conference play, were led by Dantwan Grimes. He showcased an impressive all-around performance, accumulating 16 points, six rebounds, six assists, and an outstanding six steals. Other key performers for Tarleton State included Jordan Mizell, who scored 15 points, grabbed six rebounds, and added two steals, along with Izzy Miles, who matched Mizell’s 15 points on the scoreboard.
Looking ahead, both Grand Canyon and Tarleton State will be back in action on Saturday. The Antelopes will travel to take on UT Arlington, while Tarleton State will be hosting Seattle, aiming to improve their standings in the conference.
