CLEMSON, S.C. — Tessa Miller had a standout performance by scoring 18 points and securing eight rebounds, helping Clemson conquer No. 19 Georgia Tech 68-61 on Thursday night, effectively ending a four-game losing streak for the team.

Maddi Cluse contributed significantly by netting all 14 of her points in the first half, while Hannah Kohn added 13 points in the second half for Clemson (12-13, 5-9 in the Atlantic Coast Conference). Both Cluse and Kohn were crucial in hitting four of the Tigers’ nine successful three-pointers during the game.

Kara Dunn spearheaded Georgia Tech’s efforts with 18 points, including four shots from beyond the arc, but it was not enough as the team’s three-game winning run came to a halt (20-5, 8-5). Additionally, Kayla Blackshear and Tonie Morgan each contributed 11 points for the Yellow Jackets.

The turning point came in the second quarter, where Cluse and Miller both scored six points, allowing Clemson to outscore Georgia Tech 23-14. Cluse showcased her shooting prowess by going 4 of 5 from three-point range in the first half, and Miller posted an excellent shooting percentage of 83% (5-of-6), leading to a halftime advantage of 37-26.

In the second half, the competition remained tight, with Georgia Tech making a late push to close the gap to within seven points in the final minute, though they could not narrow it any further.

Georgia Tech is set to face Wake Forest on Sunday, starting a three-game homestand, while Clemson will play at SMU the same day to initiate a three-game road trip.
