Orem, Utah – In an impressive display on Thursday night, Utah Valley triumphed over UT Arlington with a final score of 94-73, thanks in large part to Dominick Nelson’s standout performance, where he scored 19 points.
In addition to his scoring prowess, Nelson also contributed five assists, playing a pivotal role in the Wolverines’ (16-7, 8-1 in the Western Athletic Conference) victory. Tanner Toolson supported the team by adding 13 points to the scoreboard, shooting 5 out of 11 from the field, which included hitting 3 out of 8 three-pointers. Toolson also showcased his all-around game with five assists and three steals. Trevan Leonhardt made his mark by shooting 2 of 3 from the field and converting all four of his free-throw attempts, finishing the night with 10 points.
For the Mavericks (11-12, 4-5), Kade Douglas emerged as the leading scorer with 20 points. Lance Ware made a significant impact on both ends of the floor, recording a double-double with 10 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. Additionally, Jaxon Ellingsworth and Brody Robinson each contributed nine points to their team’s effort.
