ARLINGTON, Va. — A well-known baby food brand is pulling its teething sticks from the market due to safety concerns regarding potential choking hazards.

On Friday, Gerber announced the voluntary recall and discontinuation of its “Sooth N Chew” teething sticks after receiving reports from consumers about incidents of choking, including one case that resulted in an emergency room visit.

These teething products, designed for infants aged six months and older, are edible teethers available in two flavors: strawberry-apple and banana.

Gerber is currently collaborating with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to ensure a smooth recall process.

Consumers who have purchased the teething sticks are encouraged to return the items to the stores where they were bought for a full refund, according to company guidelines.
