CARROLLTON, Ga. – In a significant match-up on Thursday night, Jacksonville University triumphed over West Georgia with a decisive score of 79-62. Zach Bell and Robert McCray were standout performers for Jacksonville, each contributing 19 points to the victory.
Bell showcased his shooting prowess, hitting 7 of his 14 attempts and impressively sinking 5 of 7 three-point shots, while McCray not only scored but also provided seven assists during the game. Additionally, Stephon Payne III chipped in with 14 points by going 4 for 8 from the field and 6 of 10 from the free-throw line, alongside grabbing six rebounds. This latest victory marked the Dolphins’ sixth consecutive win, reflecting their solid performance within the season.
On the opposing side, West Georgia’s effort was spearheaded by Tamaury Releford, who managed to score 18 points, along with nine rebounds and two blocks. Shelton Williams-Dryden also contributed significantly with 14 points and three steals. Kyric Davis was another key player for the Wolves, notching 13 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks in the game.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to compete again on Saturday. Jacksonville is scheduled to visit Queens, while West Georgia will host North Florida.
