STANFORD, Calif. — Maxime Raynaud had an impressive performance with 28 points and 12 rebounds, leading Stanford to a dominant 88-51 win over Miami on Wednesday evening. This victory marked the eighth consecutive loss for the Hurricanes.
Raynaud demonstrated his shooting prowess, hitting 10 of 17 attempts and sinking four shots from beyond the arc. In addition to his scoring and rebounding, he made significant contributions on defense, recording two steals and two blocked shots. This game represented Raynaud’s fifth consecutive double-double and the 16th of his career, including seven at the start of the season.
Supporting Raynaud, Jaylen Blakes contributed with 12 points, four assists, and three steals. Chisom Okpara added another 12 points off the bench, achieving a perfect shooting night with all four attempts made and three successful free throws, alongside four assists. Ryan Agarwal and Oziyah Sellers chipped in with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
On the other side, Matthew Cleveland led the Hurricanes with 23 points, while Lynn Kidd provided additional support with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Sellers was particularly impactful in the first half, notching all of his points that contributed to Stanford’s commanding 37-21 halftime lead. After an early free throw from Brandon Johnson put Miami ahead 1-0, the game quickly shifted in favor of Stanford. The Cardinal embarked on a 14-0 scoring streak, during which Sellers had consecutive baskets and Okpara completed a three-point play, extending the lead to 21-3.
Cleveland initiated the second half with five points, narrowing Miami’s deficit to 11. However, Stanford quickly regained control, with Blakes and Raynaud responding with consecutive baskets, ultimately increasing the lead back to 18. Okpara capped the scoring for Stanford, achieving their largest margin at 79-40 with just over four minutes remaining.
With this victory, Stanford maintains a perfect home record of 3-0 in their first season within the conference and is set to face Florida State on Saturday. Meanwhile, Miami will be heading to California on the same day.
