PARIS — Jack Grealish, playing for Manchester City, left a notable impression on England’s newly appointed coach, Thomas Tuchel, who was in attendance during a recent match.
Despite his team’s 4-2 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, Grealish showcased his skills after being subbed in, quickly making an impact on the game.
In the 50th minute, he scored from close range during a chaotic sequence, and just three minutes later, he assisted Erling Haaland’s goal with a cross from the left that took a deflection off PSG’s Joao Neves.
This performance seems to indicate that Grealish is eager to prove himself, perhaps motivated by his exclusion from the squad for last year’s European Championship, a decision that surprised many fans and analysts alike.
Now, he has an opportunity to impress in the upcoming matches under Tuchel.
The new coach is gearing up for his first assignments, which are World Cup qualifiers against Albania on March 21 and Latvia three days later.
Tuchel will lead the team under a contract that extends through the World Cup finals scheduled for the summer of 2026 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
