VILLANOVA, Pa. — In a thrilling contest, Georgetown emerged victorious against Villanova on Monday night, with Micah Peavy making a dramatic game-winning layup just before the final buzzer, leading to a tight score of 64-63.
Peavy’s performance was outstanding, as he finished the game with 24 points, converting 9 of his 16 shot attempts, including a remarkable 6 out of 9 from beyond the arc. Georgetown, now holding a record of 13 wins and 6 losses, with a 4-4 standing in the Big East Conference, saw notable contributions from freshman Thomas Sorber, who secured his sixth double-double of the season, adding 15 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Additionally, Jayden Epps matched Sorber’s scoring with 15 points of his own.
