ST. PAUL, Minn. — The St. Thomas-Minnesota basketball team secured a 74-62 victory over Denver on Saturday night, with standout performances from several players.
Nolan Minessale was instrumental in the win, contributing 17 points. He showcased excellent shooting, making all four of his field goal attempts and converting 8 out of 10 free throws. His performance helped the Tommies improve to an impressive record of 15 wins and 5 losses, maintaining a perfect 5-0 in the Summit League. Miles Barnstable added valuable support by scoring 14 points, hitting 5 of his 9 shots, which included 2 from 3 beyond the three-point line. Additionally, Drake Dobbs finished with 13 points, making 4 out of 8 from the field and 5 out of 6 from the foul line.
On the other side, the Pioneers were led by Sebastian Akins, who scored 14 points in the losing effort. Nicholas Shogbonyo chipped in 11 points while Pedro Lopez-Sanvicente also contributed with 8 points. This defeat marked the ninth consecutive loss for Denver, leaving them with a record of 6 wins and 15 losses, and 0-6 in conference play.
