FRESNO, Calif. — In a strong performance, Zaon Collins contributed 23 points to lead Fresno State to a 74-65 victory over Air Force on Friday evening.
Collins had an impressive shooting night, going 7 for 11 overall, which included making 2 of 4 attempts from beyond the arc, and he was perfect from the charity stripe hitting all 7 attempts. Alongside Collins, Alex Crawford put forth a commendable effort adding 21 points on 8 of 13 shooting, including 1 for 4 from three-point territory, while also securing 5 rebounds. Jalen Weaver chipped in 15 points, making 5 of 10 field goals and was also perfect from the free-throw line, going 4 for 4, in addition to grabbing seven boards. This win allowed the Bulldogs (5-13, 1-6 Mountain West Conference) to snap their six-game losing streak.

On the other side, Luke Kearney was the standout for Air Force (3-15, 0-7), finishing with a double-double comprising 20 points and 11 rebounds. His teammate, Ethan Taylor, contributed significantly with 16 points, six assists, and two steals, while Kyle Marshall added 13 points and four assists. The defeat marked the eighth consecutive loss for the Falcons.

Fresno State asserted control early in the game, taking the lead just 1:23 into the first half and maintaining it throughout. By halftime, the Bulldogs had established a comfortable lead, leading 41-24 with Crawford scoring 12 of those points. In the second half, Fresno State intensified their lead with an 8-0 run, resulting in an 18-point gap at 56-38 with just over 11 minutes remaining, allowing them to cruise to victory.

Looking ahead, Fresno State will take to the road on Monday for a matchup against New Mexico, while Air Force will return home to face San Diego State on Wednesday.
