NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans conducted additional interviews on Saturday as part of their ongoing quest to find a new general manager. The franchise connected with four candidates virtually, including Ed Dodds, who serves as the assistant general manager for the Indianapolis Colts; Matt Berry, the senior director of player personnel for the Seattle Seahawks; Terrance Gray, the director of player personnel for the Buffalo Bills; and Catherine Hickman, who is the assistant general manager and vice president of football operations for the Cleveland Browns.
This search comes on the heels of Ran Carthon’s dismissal after two seasons at the helm, during which the team recorded a dismal 9-25 record. Chad Brinker, currently serving as the president of football operations for the Titans, is leading the search effort for a new GM.
Ed Dodds has been with the Colts for eight seasons, with the past seven spent as their assistant general manager. His NFL journey began in 2007 with a scouting position at the Seattle Seahawks, where he progressed to a senior personnel executive role, evaluating both collegiate and professional players until 2016. He previously had stints with the Raiders and at Texas A&M-Kingsville, his alma mater.
Matt Berry, who hails from Nashville, has a long history in the league, starting with five seasons at the Atlanta Falcons before joining the Seahawks. Over his extensive 17-year tenure in Seattle, he has risen through the ranks, beginning as a regional scout and moving on to national scout duty. He was appointed as the director of college scouting in 2015 and assumed his current position in 2023.
Terrance Gray has dedicated eight seasons to the Buffalo franchise, now in his third season as director of player personnel. He originally joined the Bills as assistant director of player personnel and was later appointed director of college scouting. Before this, Gray spent 11 seasons working as a college scout for the Minnesota Vikings and had early experiences in player development and personnel with the Kansas City Chiefs beginning in 2003.
The Titans capped off their second day of interviews with Catherine Hickman, who holds the distinction of being the NFL’s highest-ranking female executive within a team. She has served as the assistant general manager and vice president of football operations for the Browns since 2022, following a position as the football operations coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles, which she held after being hired in 2019. Additionally, Hickman brings experience from her time with the Montreal and Toronto teams in the Canadian Football League.
The Tennessee Titans had initiated their search for a new general manager on Friday, interviewing three candidates, which included former GMs Reggie McKenzie and Thomas Dimitroff. The process continues to unfold as the franchise seeks the right individual to lead its front office.
