Jalen Rucker scored 26 points to lead the Army Black Knights to a thrilling 74-72 victory over Loyola Maryland on Wednesday night in West Point, New York.
Rucker also contributed three steals, showcasing his defensive skill alongside his scoring ability for Army, who now holds a record of 7-8 and 1-2 in the Patriot League. AJ Allenspach also made a significant impact, adding 12 points and grabbing seven rebounds in the tight match.
On the other side, the Greyhounds of Loyola Maryland, who fell to 6-8 overall and 1-2 in league play, were led by Jordan Stiemke, who scored 17 points and registered two blocks. Their offensive effort was bolstered by Tyson Commander, who contributed 16 points, while Milos Ilic rounded out the scoring with 12 points along with 10 rebounds and three steals.
Army entered halftime with a substantial lead of 47-30, with Rucker already having made his mark by scoring 11 points before the break. In the second half, he continued to shine, adding another 15 points, ultimately securing the narrow victory for Army in what was an exciting finish to the game.
