COLUMBIA, Mo. — Tamar Bates was the shining star for Missouri, scoring 20 points, and Anthony Robinson II contributed 16 points as the team secured an 83-67 win against LSU on Tuesday evening.

Missouri, now holding a record of 12-3 and 1-1 in the Southeastern Conference, recovered admirably from their recent defeat against the second-ranked Auburn, which ended in an 84-68 loss. The Tigers have achieved an impressive home court record, claiming victory in 12 consecutive games, marking their longest streak since they enjoyed a 26-game run from 2012 to 2014.

Both Bates and Robinson were effective in their shooting, each knocking down two 3-pointers and remaining flawless from the free-throw line with a perfect 14 for 14 combined. In addition to his scoring efforts, Bates captured eight rebounds, while Robinson also provided four assists for his team.

Marques Warrick contributed with 12 points, Mark Mitchell scored 11, and Caleb Grill added 10 points, helping Missouri achieve a shooting percentage of 48% from beyond the arc, going 12 of 25.

For LSU, Cam Carter led the scoring with 16 points, and Curtis Givens III added 15 points to the scoreboard. LSU, with a record of 11-4 and 0-2 in conference play, struggled to keep pace.

During the first half, Robinson and Bates’ efforts propelled Missouri to a 42-27 lead at halftime. Bates, particularly impactful, scored eight points, including two impressive dunks, as Missouri initiated the second half with a 15-9 run, extending their lead to 57-36.

LSU attempted to close the gap, managing to reduce Missouri’s lead to 66-54, but the Tigers maintained their advantage throughout the game.

Looking ahead, LSU aims to break their two-game losing streak as they prepare to face No. 23 Mississippi in their upcoming road game on Saturday. Meanwhile, Missouri will be hosting Vanderbilt on the same day.
