GREENVILLE, N.C. — Florida Atlantic secured a narrow victory against East Carolina with a final score of 78-76, thanks to impressive performances from Tre Carroll and Ken Evans, who each contributed 17 points on Sunday.

Carroll was efficient in his shooting, hitting 7 of 12 attempts from the field and converting 3 of 4 free throws. Evans also had a strong showing, connecting on 6 of 11 shots, including 4 for 7 from three-point range. Leland Walker supported the team’s effort with a solid all-around game, contributing 14 points, five rebounds, and seven assists.

For East Carolina, C.J. Walker was the standout player, racking up 21 points while securing 13 rebounds and blocking two shots. Joran Riley also made a significant impact, scoring 19 points and adding nine rebounds along with five steals. RJ Felton rounded out the scoring for the Pirates with 15 points and two steals.

In the first half, Carroll scored seven points, helping Florida Atlantic take a slight lead of 40-36 at halftime. The Owls took command of the game when Evans drained a crucial three-pointer with just 4:33 remaining in the second half, establishing a 70-68 lead that they maintained to the end of the contest.

This hard-fought victory improves Florida Atlantic’s record to 8-7 overall and 1-1 in the American Athletic Conference, while East Carolina falls to 8-7 and 0-2 in league play.
