In a closely contested matchup on Thursday night, the Lipscomb Bisons emerged victorious against the Jacksonville Dolphins, finishing the game with a score of 70-65.
Joe Anderson played a pivotal role for Lipscomb, contributing 18 points to the team’s effort and showcasing his defensive skills with an impressive seven steals.
The Bisons improved their record to 9-5, kicking off their Atlantic Sun Conference campaign with a win.
Gyasi Powell also made significant contributions, netting 17 points. His performance included hitting four of ten field goal attempts, with three of those coming from beyond the arc where he shot 50%.
Additionally, he maintained an unblemished record at the free-throw line, making all six attempts, and recorded three steals.
Dylan Faulkner added 12 points to the total for Lipscomb, shooting a perfect four for four from the field and from the free-throw line, while also pulling down six rebounds.
On the opposing side, Robert McCray was the standout player for the Dolphins, leading his team with 22 points.
Jakari Spence also had a noteworthy performance, contributing 14 points and dishing out four assists as Jacksonville fell to a 6-7 overall record and 0-1 in conference play.
