In an exhilarating showdown on Thursday night, Detroit Mercy emerged victorious over Robert Morris, clinching a 78-76 win in overtime, largely thanks to a stellar performance by Orlando Lovejoy, who scored 32 points.
Lovejoy’s contributions extended beyond scoring, as he also grabbed nine rebounds, showcasing his all-around skills for the Titans, who improved their season record to 6-10 with a 2-3 mark in the Horizon League.
Emmanuel Kuac played a key role as well, contributing 16 points on a shooting performance of 4 for 11 from the field, including 3 for 7 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 5 for 6 from the free-throw line.
Additionally, Legend Geeter added to the team’s success with 10 points, hitting 5 of 11 shots from the field, which helped the Titans break a five-game losing streak.
On the other side, the Colonials, holding a record of 9-6 and 1-3 in the league, put up a strong fight with Kam Woods and Amarion Dickerson each netting 20 points.
Josh Omojafo also contributed with 13 points, but it was not enough to secure the victory.
As the season progresses, both teams are looking to build on this game as they strive for success in their remaining matches.
