TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe and linebacker Jihaad Campbell have both declared for the NFL Draft, opting to forgo their remaining collegiate eligibility. The pair made their intentions known via social media on Thursday, just days after the Crimson Tide’s defeat to Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl, with the final score being 19-13.
“Football has always been a significant part of my life, and since childhood, I envisioned competing at the highest level,” Milroe expressed in his announcement. He emphasized that despite the ups and downs, including victories, challenging defeats, and criticisms, his passion for the game has remained steadfast. Milroe conveyed deep appreciation for the opportunities he has had, stating, “Every day, my gratitude for the chance to play this sport I love only grows stronger. With that said, I am declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.”

On the ground, he amassed 726 rushing yards and scored 20 rushing touchdowns, including leading the team in a significant upset against Georgia. However, the Crimson Tide concluded the season with a 9-4 record, missing out on the playoffs. In his final appearance, Milroe struggled, fumbling twice, being sacked on a fourth down, and throwing an interception within the first four drives of the game. His Alabama career wraps with noteworthy totals of 6,016 passing yards, 45 touchdown passes, and 20 interceptions, alongside 1,579 rushing yards and 33 rushing touchdowns.
Jihaad Campbell moved into a starting linebacker role last year, marking his significant contribution to the team with 117 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, and two forced fumbles. Reflecting on his time at Alabama, Campbell stated, “These last three years in Tuscaloosa have molded me into a better player and a better man. This experience has been both special and unforgettable. I feel prepared to take the next step in my career now.”
These decisions mark a pivotal moment for both players as they aim to transition to professional football, following a season filled with challenging experiences and personal growth.
