RICHMOND, Va. — In a competitive matchup on Saturday night, Dusan Neskovic stood out for the Spiders, scoring 23 points and securing six rebounds, leading Richmond to a 78-71 victory over VMI.
Joining Neskovic in the scoring effort, Delonnie Hunt made a significant impact, netting 16 points, shooting an impressive 11 out of 12 from the free-throw line, and successfully hitting 2 out of 3 from the field. Apostolos Roumoglou also contributed to the team’s performance with 10 points, managing to shoot 4 of 9 overall, with his three-point shooting at 2 for 7.
On the other side, the Keydets were led by Rickey Bradley, Jr., who scored 26 points and showcased his offensive skills. Tan Yildizoglu supported the effort with 15 points, along with four assists and three steals, while Kaden Stuckey also made his mark with 10 points and two steals.
Richmond gained momentum late in the first half, seizing the lead with 6:16 to go and maintaining it until the end of the game. Neskovic was instrumental during this period, tallying 11 points before the half concluded with the Spiders ahead 41-29. In the second half, Richmond extended their lead significantly with a 7-0 scoring run, pulling ahead to a 12-point advantage at 56-44 with just over eight minutes remaining, ultimately sealing the game with their strong finish.
