Lehigh edges out Long Island University in a close 60-59 victory

NEW YORK — In a closely contested matchup on Saturday, Keith Higgins Jr. led Lehigh to a narrow 60-59 victory over LIU, scoring 16 points.
Higgins also showcased his defensive abilities, adding three steals to the Mountain Hawks’ effort, bringing their season record to 4-6.
Tyler Whitney-Sidney contributed with 11 points, making 4 of 12 attempts from the floor, including two successful three-point shots out of five.
Ben Knostman was effective as well, finishing with 10 points, converting 3 of 4 field-goal attempts and matching that performance from the free-throw line.

On the other side, Jamal Fuller stood out for the Sharks, recording 20 points along with eight rebounds as LIU fell to a 4-11 record.
Shadrak Lasu provided solid support with a double-double, scoring 16 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and blocking three shots.
Blake Lander also made an impact, adding 10 points to LIU’s total.

Higgins made his mark early, netting eight points in the first half, although Lehigh went into halftime trailing 35-28.
Knostman emerged as a key player in the second half, leading his team with nine points, helping Lehigh to outscore LIU by eight points in that period.

Looking ahead, Lehigh will face Neumann at home on Sunday, while LIU prepares to host Le Moyne the following Friday.
