In a decisive start to their Big East Conference season, the Georgetown Hoyas triumphed over the Creighton Bluejays with an impressive score of 81-57 on Wednesday night. Jayden Epps emerged as a key player for Georgetown, contributing 21 points along with three steals, showcasing his all-around abilities on the court.
Micah Peavy also delivered a remarkable performance, finishing the game with 20 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and seven steals, further solidifying the Hoyas’ dominant display. Curtis Williams played a vital role as well, scoring 12 points with an efficient 4-of-6 shooting from the field.
On the other side, Steven Ashworth led the scoring effort for Creighton with 21 points, supported by four assists. Jackson McAndrew contributed with 13 points and made three steals, while Ryan Kalkbrenner added 10 points and three blocks to the Bluejays’ efforts.
The game shifted in favor of Georgetown when they took the lead with just 1:41 left in the first half and maintained control throughout. The Hoyas entered halftime ahead with a score of 34-28, thanks to Williams, who scored eight points in the first half. The second half saw Peavy score 16 points, which was instrumental in Georgetown’s increased lead, as they outscored Creighton by 18 points after the break.
Looking ahead, Georgetown’s next challenge is a matchup against Seton Hall on the road this coming Sunday. Meanwhile, Creighton will be hosting Villanova on Saturday, aiming to bounce back from this setback.
