SAN ANTONIO — In an exciting matchup on Friday night, Amir “Primo” Spears delivered an impressive performance by scoring 28 points, propelling the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) to a narrow 80-76 victory over North Dakota.

Spears also contributed defensively, recording three steals while helping his team improve their record to 4-5 for the season. Damari Monsanto supported the effort with 12 points, hitting 4 of 10 shots from the field, including 4 for 9 from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, Marcus Millender added another 10 points, shooting 4 of 11 overall and making 2 of his 7 attempts from three-point range.

For North Dakota, which now stands at 4-7, Dariyus Woodson was the standout player with 21 points. Teammate Treysen Eaglestaff pitched in with 14 points of his own, while Brian Matthews contributed significantly with 13 points and seven rebounds.
