NORMAN, Okla. — In a dominating performance, Skylar Vann achieved a season-best 20 points as the No. 11 ranked Oklahoma Sooner women’s basketball team extended their impressive home winning streak to 13 games, defeating Alabama State 110-46 on Sunday.
The Sooners were back on their home court for the first time in nearly a month and quickly took control of the game, securing the lead just 90 seconds into the matchup when Vann and Payton Verhulst each sank a three-pointer in succession. Oklahoma’s last home defeat came on December 22, 2023.
Oklahoma showcased their high-octane offense, averaging 90.3 points per game, as they shot nearly 59% from the floor against the Hornets, hitting 43 of their 73 attempts. The team excelled beyond the arc, connecting on 16 of 37 three-pointers, and they recorded an impressive 30 assists on their 43 baskets. Contributions from the bench were significant, with eight players combining for 55 points. Aubrey Jones and Lexy Keys led this effort with 14 and 11 points, respectively. Raegan Beers also shined, scoring 14 points and grabbing six rebounds, while Verhulst finished with 13 points, including three three-pointers, along with three assists and three steals.
For Alabama State, Justina Graham was the only player to score in double figures, contributing 10 points and four rebounds. The Hornets struggled offensively, making just 17 of 54 attempts from the field, including only 5 of 19 from three-point range.
