A tragic incident occurred in midtown Manhattan when a 50-year-old man was shot and killed outside a hotel, according to law enforcement officials.

The shooting took place early Wednesday morning at approximately 6:45 a.m. outside a Hilton hotel, conveniently located near popular attractions like the Museum of Modern Art and Rockefeller Center.

Authorities reported that the assailant fled the scene following the attack. The victim was quickly transported to a hospital close to the area; however, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

At this time, the identity of the deceased man has not been disclosed, pending notification of his relatives.
