HOUSTON – On Sunday evening, Texas State triumphed over Texas Southern with a score of 72-59, thanks in large part to Christian Turner’s outstanding performance, where he netted 18 points.
Turner also contributed defensively with three steals for the Bobcats, who improved to a record of 5-3.
Supporting his efforts, Tyler Morgan scored 13 points, managing to shoot 6 of 15 from the floor while failing to make a three-point attempt.
In addition, Morgan played a crucial role in the team’s overall game by pulling down nine rebounds and dishing out seven assists.
Kaden Gumbs added to the team’s success by scoring 12 points, shooting 5 of 10 from the field.
For Texas Southern, which now holds a record of 2-6, Kavion McClain led the scoring with 12 points alongside three steals.
Kenny Hunter contributed significantly with 10 points, six rebounds, and three blocks, showing a solid presence in the paint.
Zaire Hayes also chipped in with another 10 points for the Tigers, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Bobcats’ balanced attack.
Through teamwork and effective individual performances, Texas State managed to secure a convincing victory over their opponents on this occasion.
