NASSAU, Bahamas — In an exciting matchup at the Baha Mar Hoops tournament on Friday, Dejour Reaves shone brightly, pouring in 17 points and helping Iona secure a victory against Tarleton State, finishing with a score of 62-51.
Reaves also contributed significantly on the boards, grabbing five rebounds for the Gaels, who improved their season record to 2-5. Justin Menard also made a notable impact, connecting on four of eight shots, including three of seven attempts from beyond the arc, to add 13 points to his team’s total. Adam Njie rounded out the scoring for Iona with nine points, hitting four of eight attempts, one of which was a three-pointer.
On the opposing side, Tarleton State (now 1-6) was led by the impressive performance of Bubu Benjamin, who scored 22 points and pulled down seven rebounds. He was supported by Izzy Miles with 10 points, while Jordan Mizell contributed eight points along with three steals, but the efforts were not enough to overcome Iona’s resolve.
