Cristiano Ronaldo played a pivotal role in Al-Nassr’s 2-0 victory over Damac, helping his team maintain their pursuit of the Saudi Pro League title on Friday in Riyadh.
The Portuguese forward, who has yet to capture a significant trophy since his move to the club in 2022, found the net twice—once in each half. This performance ensured that Al-Nassr remained in third place, trailing league leaders Al-Ittihad by five points, while defending champions Al-Hilal held the second position.
With a third of the season now completed, Ronaldo started his scoring in the 16th minute by converting a penalty after Abdelkader Bedrane was penalized for handling the ball in the penalty area.
Bad luck struck for Bedrane as he suffered a red card early in the second half due to a reckless challenge, making it a tough night for him.
Ronaldo later added a second goal with just ten minutes left in the match, scoring from close range to solidify the win. This goal propelled him to second place in the league’s scoring charts with nine goals, surpassing Karim Benzema of Al-Ittihad by one goal and trailing only Aleksandar Mitrovic of Al-Hilal by three.
In other league action, Al-Qadsia remained in fourth place, tied on points with Al-Nassr, after securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Al-Khaleej.
