LONDON — The England rugby team proudly concluded its recent five-match defeat streak in a remarkable fashion, showcasing their talent by scoring nine tries during a resounding 59-14 victory over Japan on Sunday.

Prior to this impressive win, England had faced setbacks against formidable opponents including New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa in their autumn series, in addition to two consecutive losses to New Zealand back in July. A sixth defeat would have marked the first time since 2006 that the English team had experienced such a prolonged losing streak.

Captain Jamie George was instrumental in the success, contributing two tries to England’s tally during a dominant first half. Following the interval, England continued to assert their dominance, adding four more tries to their total at Twickenham, where the atmosphere was electric.

Japan, on the other hand, has still not managed to claim a victory over England in their history.

Former England coach Eddie Jones, who led the team from 2015 to 2022 and took them to the World Cup final in 2019, returned to Twickenham amidst scrutiny regarding his management style from past players. This match not only served as a turning point for England but also highlighted the ongoing challenges facing Jones in his leadership role.
