TEL AVIV, Israel — Reports indicate that the remains of an Israeli-Moldovan rabbi, who had been unaccounted for in the United Arab Emirates, have been discovered, according to local Emirati authorities.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office released a statement on Sunday declaring that Zvi Kogan had been murdered, labeling the act as a “heinous antisemitic terror incident.”
In the announcement, it was emphasized that “the state of Israel will employ every possible means to pursue justice against the individuals responsible for his death.”
Kogan was reported missing last Thursday, with fears arising that he may have been abducted.
His disappearance occurs amidst heightened tensions, as Iran has expressed intentions to retaliate against Israel following a series of confrontations between the two nations earlier in October.
