In a decisive matchup on Friday night, Tyler Harris showcased his scoring ability, netting 27 points with an impressive shooting performance of 8-for-11. The Washington Huskies capitalized on a strong second half to secure a 77-60 victory over the Alcorn State Braves.

Zoom Diallo made a significant contribution as well, scoring 15 points for the Huskies, while Keionte Cornelius and Michael Pajeaud added 13 and 10 points, respectively. For the Braves, Markus Tankersley was the only starter to reach double figures, finishing with 12 points.

Washington, wrapping up its three-game homestand, led 36-24 at halftime. They quickly extended their lead with a 9-0 run midway through the second half, propelled by a pair of free throws from Diallo that brought the score to 60-50 with just under ten minutes remaining. Following a technical foul on the Braves, Harris added three more free throws, pushing the lead to 67-54 with seven minutes still on the clock. Washington maintained a comfortable advantage, staying ahead by double digits for the rest of the game.

Alcorn State struggled in their season, now with a record of 0-7, having lost 12 of their first 13 nonconference games, all of which were played away from home. This season, they will be facing an unprecedented challenge with their first 13 games on the road.

This game marked the first-ever encounter between Washington and Alcorn State. Historically, the Huskies hold a perfect record against teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference, now at 8-0.

Looking ahead, Alcorn State is set to compete against UC Riverside this Sunday, while Washington will take on Colorado State at the Acrisure Holiday Invitational in Palm Springs, California, on Thanksgiving Day.
