PHOENIX — In a strong showing on Friday night, Tyon Grant-Foster and JaKobe Coles each contributed 20 points to lead Grand Canyon to a 91-73 victory over Norfolk State.
Grant-Foster made 7 of his 13 shots from the field, showcasing his accuracy by hitting 3 of 5 attempts from three-point territory, and converted 3 of 4 free throw attempts for the Antelopes, who improved to a record of 3-2. Coles was impressive as well, scoring 8 out of 11 from the field, including 3 for 5 from beyond the arc, while also dishing out five assists.
Meanwhile, Rayshon Harrison also proved to be a key player for Grand Canyon, finishing the game with 17 points. He was highly efficient, shooting 5 of 7 overall, which included 2 out of 4 from long range, and he made all five of his free throw attempts along with contributing eight assists.
For Norfolk State, Jalen Myers led the scoring with 20 points. His efforts were complemented by Brian Moore Jr., who scored 17 points and was active on defense with three steals. Christian Ings added to the scoring efforts with 15 points of his own.
This matchup highlighted the talents on both sides, but it was Grand Canyon who ultimately secured the victory with their strong offensive performance.
