LARAMIE, Wyo. — The Wyoming Cowboys secured a hard-fought win against SE Louisiana, ending the match with a score of 64-61 on Friday evening.
Jordan Nesbitt showcased an impressive performance, contributing 13 points along with an outstanding 15 rebounds for Wyoming.
As the game neared its conclusion, SE Louisiana’s Kam Burton nailed a crucial 3-point shot that narrowed the gap to 63-61.
In response, Obi Agbim managed to add a point from the free-throw line, extending Wyoming’s lead to three points.
However, Jakevion Buckley of SE Louisiana was unable to convert a last-second 3-pointer, sealing the victory for the Cowboys.
Obi Agbim recorded 11 points during the game, but struggled with his shooting, finishing with a 2 for 9 performance overall (including 2 for 7 from beyond the arc) while also going 5 for 7 from the free-throw line.
Wyoming improved its record to 4-1 with this win.
On the other side, Kam Burton was the standout player for SE Louisiana, finishing the game with 20 points and contributing three steals.
Sam Hines Jr. also made a notable impact, adding 11 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks to his team’s performance.
In the first half, A.J. Wills played a significant role for Wyoming, scoring eight points and helping the team secure a halftime lead of 36-26.
