Pierre Brooks was the standout player for the Bulldogs, contributing significantly with 23 points and 12 rebounds. This win improved Butler’s record to 4-1 for the season.
Joining Brooks in the scoring was Andre Screen, who made 12 points with an impressive shooting performance, hitting 5 of 6 attempts from the field, along with grabbing nine rebounds. Patrick McCaffery also added to the scoreboard, finishing with 11 points, which included a 3-of-8 shooting from the field and a 2-of-5 mark from beyond the arc. He also had a solid performance at the free-throw line, converting 3 of his 4 attempts.
On the opposing side, Adam Clark led the Merrimack Warriors, who now hold a record of 1-4, with a modest eight points and four assists. The game was relatively close at halftime, with Butler leading by a score of 37-31, driven largely by Brooks, who accounted for 15 of those points.
