PROVIDENCE, R.I. — In an exciting matchup at the College Hill Classic, the Brown Bears emerged victorious against the Sacred Heart Pioneers with a score of 89-70 on Sunday evening. AJ Lesburt Jr. was the standout performer for Brown, contributing an impressive 22 points to the team’s total.
In addition to his scoring, Lesburt notched five rebounds, making a significant impact in both offensive and defensive plays. Kino Lilly Jr. also shone brightly, netting 20 points with a shooting performance that saw him make 6 of his 14 attempts. Lilly displayed his shooting prowess from beyond the arc as well, sinking 4 out of 10 three-point attempts, and he was perfect at the charity stripe, converting all four free throws. He didn’t just stop at scoring; Lilly also facilitated the game with six assists. Meanwhile, Landon Lewis contributed solidly, scoring 14 points while maintaining an exceptional shooting record of 6 for 6 from the field and 2 out of 5 from the free-throw line.
On the other side of the court, Amiri Stewart topped the scoring charts for the Pioneers, totaling 14 points. Teammates Tanner Thomas and Bryce Johnson each played their part well, contributing 12 points each in the loss. Despite their efforts, Sacred Heart couldn’t keep pace with the Bears throughout the game.
