PITTSBURGH — The Panthers dominated the Mountaineers on Friday night, winning 86-62, with standout performances from Damian Dunn and Guillermo Diaz Graham. Dunn showcased his shooting skills by sinking four 3-pointers and finishing the game with 23 points, contributing significantly to Pittsburgh’s victory. He successfully converted seven of his twelve shots, including 4 of 7 from long range, and also made 5 of 7 free throws, helping the Panthers extend their record to 4-0. Diaz Graham recorded his first double-double of the season, accumulating 10 points and securing 10 rebounds, marking the second double-double of his collegiate career.

In addition to Dunn’s stellar performance, Ishmael Leggett scored 15 points, while Cameron Corhen contributed 14 for the Panthers. The Mountaineers, who suffered their first loss away from home this season, saw Jonathan Powell lead their scoring effort with 16 points, hitting four 3-pointers. Javon Small added 12 points to the team’s total as West Virginia fell to a 2-1 record.

Pittsburgh started strong, going on a 20-8 run at the beginning of the game, fueled by 3-point shots from Dunn, Diaz Graham, and Corhen. Dunn continued his impressive performance in the first half, scoring 11 points and helping the Panthers build a substantial 44-22 lead by halftime. Only Small and Eduardo Andre managed to score multiple baskets for the Mountaineers during the first half, as they struggled to keep pace.

With 13:03 left in the second half, Dunn hit another 3-pointer, extending Pitt’s lead to 62-31. The Panthers maintained a comfortable lead throughout the remainder of the game, still ahead by 31 points with just over five minutes left on the clock.

Looking ahead, the Panthers are set to host VMI in their fifth consecutive home game on Monday. Meanwhile, the Mountaineers will return to their home court to face Iona on Wednesday.
