LUBBOCK, Texas — In an impressive display of dominance, JT Toppin recorded 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Chance McMillian contributed 16 points, leading the Texas Tech Red Raiders to a commanding 96-49 victory over Wyoming on Wednesday night.
The Red Raiders, now boasting a perfect record of 3-0, showcased their offensive prowess with substantial scoring runs, including a 14-0 surge in the first half and an incredible 22-0 stretch in the second half. In the closing minutes of the game, Texas Tech outpaced Wyoming 22-2, solidifying their lead and controlling the pace of the match.
With Texas Tech ahead 74-47, McMillian sunk two crucial three-pointers, while Anderson added a pair of mid-range jumpers, igniting the impressive 22-point run. At one point, the Red Raiders became nearly unstoppable, hitting 12 consecutive field goals. In contrast, the Cowboys struggled, making only one shot out of their last ten attempts.
The Red Raiders delivered an exceptional performance in the second half, shooting an astounding 77% and achieving a game average of 64%. Toppin was particularly efficient, making 10 of his 15 attempts from the field, while McMillian excelled with a near-perfect 6 for 7 shooting, including a flawless 4 for 4 from beyond the arc. Additionally, Darrion Williams added 14 points and Devan Cambridge chipped in 10 points.
