ABILENE, Texas — Middle Tennessee secured a strong victory over Abilene Christian on Saturday night, with a final score of 79-56, largely thanks to Jestin Porter’s impressive performance, where he contributed 24 points to the Blue Raiders’ success.
Porter also made an impact defensively, recording four steals during the game. He was supported by Jlynn Counter, who tallied 15 points while shooting well from the field with a 6 for 9 efficiency and sinking 1 of 3 attempts from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, Essam Mostafa added 14 points, demonstrating his shooting skills by going 6 for 9 overall and hitting 2 out of 4 at the free-throw line.
On the other side, the Wildcats of Abilene Christian had Joseph Venzant lead their scoring with 10 points, along with six rebounds. Hunter Jack Madden contributed eight points, matching the effort of Leonardo Bettiol, who also finished with eight points for the team.
With this victory, Middle Tennessee improved to a 2-0 record early in the season, while Abilene Christian stands at 1-1 following this contest.
